Menke's Automotive Repair Named "Top Repair Shop in the Country"

Newburgh, IN, December 29, 2009: Menke's Automotive Repair has been named the 2009 Top Shop by Motor Age magazine. Motor Age magazine is a leading trade publication in the automotive industry, reaching 120,000 subscribers throughout the United States.

This is the 4th year Motor Age has has had its Top Shop competition, recognizing the top 10 mechanical repair shops throughout the U.S. for their quality of workmanship, business model, and strides in the automotive repair industry.

Shops were asked to tell Motor Age about their business, customer service and employee philosophies, history of their business, supplier relationships, shop management procedures, marketing, merchandising techniques, website, events, parts philosophy, and more... all in just 1,500 words. Owners were also asked to provide photos and videos of their facility.

Owners Vernie and Barb Menke were announced the winners and accepted the Top Shop honor during the Automotive Service Association (ADA) awards luncheon at the Congress of Automotive Repair and Service show in Las Vegas in early November. According to the ASA, the Top Shop designation puts Menke's at the top of approximately 165,000 automotive repair shops in the country. Larry Silvey, editorial director of Motor Age magazine says, "Overall, Menke's topped the close competition this year with its forward-thinking drive to better service customers."

Vernie Menke opened Menke's Automotive Repair in a 2,000 square-foot rented space. Since then, Menke's has experienced tremendous growth, and now operates a 9,500 square-foot, state-of-the-art facility in Newburgh. Menke's staff of highly experienced technicians utilizes the latest in computer diagnostic equipment. Menke's reputation for an immaculate facility has also earned them both AAA and ASE Blue Seal Shop designations. However, most importantly, of his success Vernie Menke says, "We have built our business off being honest, doing good work, and being fair with our customers."

As a result of their 2009 Top Shop award, Menke's Automotive Repair is the feature story and on the cover of the December 2009 issue of Motor Age magazine. Menke's was also given special recognition on Wednesday, December 9th from AA in honor of the Top Shop award. Menke's will also be featured nationally in AAA magazine, as well as the international ASA Autoinc. magazine.
